Being a breeder is a full-time commitment that requires endless dedication, sacrifice, and love.

Every kitten I bring into the world is one of my babies, and I pour my heart and soul into raising them.​

Behind every healthy, well-socialised kitten are countless hours of care, sleepless nights, constant cleaning, health checks, enrichment, socialisation, and an unwavering commitment to their wellbeing. We invest not only significant financial resources into quality nutrition, veterinary care, health testing, and providing the very best environment, but also an incredible amount of our time, energy, and emotions.

Being a responsible breeder means putting the needs of our cats and kittens before our own. We give up weekends, holidays, spontaneous plans, and often sleep, because our animals depend on us every single day.

What We Feed Our Kittens

We spare no expense on the food brands we feed our cats; they are all fed a premium-quality diet consisting of Royal Canin and Blackhawk kibble, and a large part of their diet is fresh RAW BEEF (pet grade) with supplements added. We also offer human-grade freeze-dried treats crumbled over their beef. Nutrition plays an important role in healthy growth and development, so we NEVER feed low-quality supermarket brands  (they are not a nutritionally complete or balanced diet), and we expect our kitten families to continue feeding their kitten the same diet they've been eating here after bringing their kitten home. 

It is important to prepare for your kitten's arrival well in advance. Please don't wait until your kitten is home to ask about its diet.

Before bringing your kitten home, arrange a meat delivery or purchase fresh beef from your local butcher or supermarket. Divide it into small meal-sized portions and freeze them so you have an appropriate food supply ready from day one.

 

Health Testing & Veterinary Care

Our cattery is proudly DNA tested and negative for HCM and PKD.

All kittens are clear by parentage.

Before going home, every kitten receives:

• No less than two vet health checks and leave us 

• Microchipped

• Two vaccinations

• Desexing

• Worming

 

Your Kitten Pack

Every Luxafel kitten picked up in person goes home with a generous kitten pack that includes 

Trupanion 30-day insurance policy, Royal Canin Kitten food packs, Food, RAW Beef, Tofu Litter, Toys and more.

Please note:  Interstate buyers get the RC food voucher and insurance digitally online, Vacc and desexing info.​

 

Cat Litter

Our kittens are litter trained using a quality Clumping Tofu Litter.

We personally use the Michu brand Clumping Tofu Litter and litter boxes, but there are several excellent clumping tofu litter brands available. After trying many different options, Michu remains our favourite.

Our Waitlist & Payments  

The deposit to reserve a kitten or secure a place on our paid waitlist is $650.

If you're joining the paid waitlist, your deposit automatically becomes your kitten deposit once you've picked. ​

Waitlist positions are allocated in the order deposits are received—the first deposit receives first choice, the second deposit receives second choice, and so on. We only accept a limited number of deposits per litter, depending on the expected litter size. 

Once the kittens are old enough for their markings to develop, we'll send you details and photos of the kittens that best match your preferences so you can choose. Once your kitten is reserved, you'll receive regular photos, videos and updates so you can enjoy watching them grow. 

The remaining balance is due when your kitten is approximately 10 weeks old, via bank transfer or in cash at pickup. 

Please note; No kitten is reserved until a deposit has been received, and deposits are non-refundable for buyer change of mind.

Do you have Allergies?​

If you are unsure whether you or a member of your household may be allergic to cats, we strongly recommend finding out before committing to adopt a kitten. Although many people find Ragdolls to be more tolerable than some other breeds, no cat is truly hypoallergenic, and individual reactions can vary. We encourage you to speak with an allergy specialist about allergy testing, or spend time around a friend's or family member's cat to help determine whether allergies may be a concern. ​

In the unfortunate event that allergies become an issue after your kitten has joined your family, don't hesitate to get in touch with us before making any rehoming arrangements. We are always happy to offer guidance and discuss the best possible outcomes.

Interstate Transport

We happily welcome interstate families to reserve our kittens 

We use only experienced, reputable pet transport companies we trust to ensure your kitten travels safely and comfortably. We can also arrange premium door-to-door transport services at extra cost. 

All prices quoted include the airfares, a PP20 crate you can keep, pick up from Pakenham and delivery to the airport. 

Please note;

• Flight / Transport costs are additional to the purchase price. 

• Food redemption vouchers and insurance information are sent electronically to activate

• Vaccination booklet and desexing certificate are sent with the kitten in their crate

• Our kitten gift bags are not offered for interstate sales.

Boarding Policy

Luxafel Ragdolls does not provide a boarding service.

If you need your kitten to stay with us for an extra few days, we may be able to accommodate a short extension only, but for any longer stays, we will be charging boarding fees of $25 per day. (subject to availability and conditions)​

Where boarding is approved, your kitten's purchase price must be paid for in full before boarding commences. 

This boarding service is available only for kittens that are still in our care before going to their new homes.

Boarding fees are non-refundable.

Closed Cattery Policy

The health, safety and wellbeing of our kittens is always our highest priority.

To protect our young, developing, and not yet fully vaccinated kittens, Luxafel Ragdolls is a closed cattery, and we do not offer home visits before collection day.  We completely understand that many families would love to meet and cuddle our beautiful Ragdoll kittens before they come home. However, as a small boutique cattery, I dedicate my time to providing the highest level of care for our cats and kittens. As Luxafel Ragdolls is also our family home, we choose to keep it as a private space while maintaining the safest possible environment for every kitten in our care. If you have reserved a Luxafel Ragdoll kitten, you'll still be able to enjoy every stage of your kitten's journey. We provide regular photos, videos and updates, allowing you to watch your little one grow and develop until the exciting day they come home.

Ethically breeding healthy, well-socialised Ragdolls is a full-time commitment that requires significant time, effort, and ongoing investment throughout the year, and, as such, we must pass these costs on. ​​If you're looking for a cheap kitten, I am not the breeder for you.
